The Future of Science Camp

As you may be aware, Walden West, which has been hosting Sunnyvale 5th graders every year for their week long science camp giving them an immersive experience in environmental education, has announced that they will need to close for the next two years for planned renovations. During this phase, the Santa Clara Office of Education (SCCOE) has decided to let go of the entirety of their employees, many of whom have been with Walden West for up to 20 years. The Sunnyvale Education Foundation invites the community to learn more about this timely decision and steps being considered to accommodate students for science camp next year and beyond. Join our Science Camp Advocacy Information mailing list. You’ll receive updates and options like those listed below.

SEF on your site

It’s amazing what we can do when we work together for our children: $150k+ for art, music, science camp, field trips, gardens, JEDI books, intervention and more over the 22-23 school year! This month on our facebook page we’ve been sharing the impact at each of the ten school sites we support. Highlights are also shared here on our Schools page

We hope that, if the impact SEF is making for our students speaks to you, you’ll support our work for the 23-24 school year, whether it’s part of #GivingTuesday or your end of year donations. Sunnyvale Ed Foundation is on your site and making a difference.  #sunnyvaleedfoundationonyoursite.
